Sam Alves
A 2022 graduate of Virginia Tech, Sam Alves dreamed of being a sports journalist all his life. Born and raised in Arlington, Virginia, he remembers running out of the house to grab the Washington Post every day as a first grader — and many years after that — to read the sports section.
In the rare moments he’s not working on a story or just watching a game — or several — on TV, you can likely find him obsessing over the Christopher Nolan filmography or enjoying a nice walk.
